So today we had our first class. We met at 9:30 in our classroom and met our two teachers...Lotte and Matthijs. They explained to us what would happen over the five week period and what was expected of us. They told us that each week would have a theme as far as our art would go. This week our theme is character. Trysha has come up with some really good ideas for it so far...as for me, thats not the case. After that they took us to a museum called Naturalis. It was an animal museum, and we went there to sketch. We were there for an hour and our focus was to work on the character of the animals and to show their weight positioning and that stuff and not worry about detail. After that we went to the University of Leiden for lunch and then went on a tour..the first of two (the second one is tomorrow). At the end of our tour we went to a church to see a Japanese dance..it was unlike anything we have ever seen before. Too bad we could not take pictures...words cannot explain it. For real. After that Steef took us out for supper to a pancake place. In Europe, they are more like crepes (which I enjoyed). The cool thing is that they were a foot in diameter. It was so so huge. After that we went to another super market and got some more food...including canned fruit and vegetables which we thought was a healthy idea. :) So our day was from 9-8pm today....time to sleep or at least sit down!
